Brinda Purohit Karnik is an AVP and Head of Operations at TimesPro, a Times of India group initiative. With over 22 years of experience in diverse domains like IT and Hospitality, she has worked with renowned organizations such as Cox and Kings Ltd, Net Decisions Private Limited, and Cybertech Systems and Software Limited. Brinda holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Mumbai University.

Brinda is known for revolutionizing the traditional HR function by introducing innovative strategies that positively impact organizational culture, values, and performance. As one of the women leaders at TimesPro, she has played a significant role in transforming the workforce culture into a performance-driven organization, contributing to TimesPro's growth. Currently, she heads HR Operations and Talent Acquisition, working closely with the CEO, CPO, and Business/Functional Heads to foster a performance culture across the organization.

Q:In your view, what are the most significant trends and challenges currently facing HR professionals, and how do you think your award-winning approach addresses them?
A:Some of the challenges the HR professionals face these days are Digital Transformation and AI Integration, Remote Work and Work-Life Balance, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Employee Well-being, Skill Gap analysis and Training. The above can be addressed through Implementing Robust HR Tech Solutions, remote work policies, fostering culture of inclusivity, prioritising the mental well being and facilitating L&D.
Q:How do you stay updated on the latest HR trends, technologies, and best practices? Can you provide an example of how you've applied emerging trends to your HR strategies?
A:I believe in collaborating with Technology partners to streamline processes. TimesPro is an organisation with a modern view and approach on how businesses are run. Being one of the few profitable EdTech companies, we have faced challenges in attracting highly skilled talent. Fast forward to 2023, we have revamped our processes by getting an online platform onboard to streamline the execution and reduce challenges faced on lengthy manual processes.
Q:In your experience, what qualities and skills are essential for HR professionals to succeed and make a positive impact in today's dynamic workplace environment?
A:In my experience, I believe what truly makes one a good HR are empathy, strong communication skills, agility, data literacy, ethical integrity, influential leadership and business acumen.
